Harnessing Africa’s potential to take control (for real) of its future

Building sustainable African economies from within

Two pathways to success: Effective use of foreign aid and building internal resources for long-term national development.

Ctrl fr exists to transform foreign aid into a catalyst for self-sufficiency, sustainable growth, and infrastructure development, ultimately making it unnecessary. The endgame is to prioritise leveraging internal resources—local expertise, human capital, natural resources, and public-private partnerships—to address development challenges and reduce reliance on external support.

Our Vision

Our vision is for African economies to take real control of their future by decoupling development from foreign aid and building Africa from within. Africa’s youth are instrumental to that transformation as they will represent 25% of the global workforce by 2030.

Our theory of action is that if young Africans are equipped with in-demand global development skills via immersive, gamified learning experiences, then global development careers will be more accessible to them, enhancing African economies’ capacity to achieve development goals and compete globally.

The three pillars of our work

Gamification. Development skill gap. An economically independent Africa

Leveraging Immersive Gamified Learning

Exposing young Africans to the intricacies of development and foreign aid via gamification. From simple gamified activities such as tournaments and charades to sophisticated multiplayer video games and simulations

Supercharging Africa's Development through skilled professionals

We bridge the talent gap in global development by matching job-ready young Africans to global opportunities in international development.

Many African economies are stuck in a vicious cycle of debt, poverty, and unrealised potential. We support stakeholders at all levels with disruptive insights to transition African economies from aid dependence to self sufficiency

Re-routing Africa to Self-sufficiency

Beyond the SDGs

Our projects aim to cultivate skills for Africa to meet and surpass its sustainable development goals (SDGs)
